Now i know it might sound wrong but people, it is possible for us to see each other without the glorious sight (and maybe smell) of lycra. So put down that gillet, squeeze yourself out of those leggings and don't even think about wearing any underneath your normal clothes in case it gets cold. It's time for the Christmas celebrations!
Sun 21st Dec - the infamous Pudding Races
Everyone is invited down to the club for mince pies, mulled wine and general merriment before those who couldn't stay too far away from rowing kit are allowed to wear it once more for scratch-racing in the pursuit of a Xmas Pud. Starts at 10.30am for the alcohol (soft drinks for juniors of course) and around 11am for the racing. Dress smart and make sure you have that 'emergency' kit still in the boot of your car.
Sun 28th Dec - Christmas Party
Food, alcohol (see a trend here) and rowers trying to look and act normal. Featuring special appearances from everyone at the club and a kick-ass rowing related quiz (better get swotting up now), what more could you want to brighten up the dull days between the indulgence of Xmas and New Year? More information about tickets will be emailed shortly and put up in the club.
And some dates to put in your diary for next year:
Fri 10th Apr (Good Friday) - Easter Opening
Sat 26th Sept - Annual Dinner (provisional date)
Ah, the fun...
